holy crap what a difference

haha... forum automatically asked me if I'm sure I want to post this because it is "similar" to several other threads containing the phrase "holy crap."

funny

Any way. I just finished building an entire cave out of mineral wool, and WOW... what a difference. I will do a build thread in a few days when fabric is up. I've come up with a few innovations in the framing department that I'll document...

but just wanted to share what a phenomenal difference the room treatment makes. I've been wrestling with verbs for months and hear clearly enough to do in mere minutes what I was spending days on previously... and still not getting right.

I can hear clearly what's going on in low freq's now too... just sounded boxy before.

In my tiny room, I did notice a difference when rfz was established, but the biggest difference would have to be from the corner trapping (I superchunked all around the ceiling, and down two other corners)

It's clear now that what I was hearing in the lower octaves before was more the room than anything... and it was a mess. A few minutes with the new room treatment, and I was able to EASILY dial in proper levels, ambiance, etc.

Phenomenal difference.... feel like I've been mixing with my ears tied behind my back...

... will do build thread soon...

carry on...
