WOOD

Hey all!
I'm wondering if anyone knows what the best wood to buy for making bass traps? Something light and won't crack easily and looks nice... affordable too...

Thanks in advance!

Peace!

Heavy

any wood will do... cover in cloth and it will hide any ugly spots or cracked wood!

we used regular pine 2x4 studs for main structure and cheap 1x2 for support / ribs to help support the insulation fill.

Thanks for the reply!

but I'm not planning to cover the frames, I want to have a nice finished frame but don't know much about wood. I am interested in something light that doesn't crack easily and looks good...

Are you going to paint, stain, varnish, or oil the wood?

If you are going to paint it, look for 1/2x4 inch boards in materials like poplar or hemlock. Kiln dried fir can work too, but usually you have to get 1x4 furring if you go that route.
