room acoustic question with video

hello i have a question for the acoustic gurus please look at the video but basicly i made a fake celing about 6.5 feet high with pvc pipe and acoustic tiles and im thinking of tearing it down to put in larger fiberglass rolls also i couldnt stand the placement of my crt monitor inbetween my speakers so im trying to redo my bedroom studio layout any advise welcome

That false ceiling isn't doing much useful, plus that type of ceiling tile is not absorbent enough at high frequencies. My best advice is to put 2-inch thick rigid fiberglass directly on the ceiling. If you can hang it down 2 to 4 inches (only), that's even better.

As Ethan pointed out that ceiling is not really what you need. You can find tiles that are made from 705 at home depot, but you would need to peal off the facing on them.

thanks guys i took down the structure and filled the corners with 18 inch thick unfaced r30 looks ugly but it's a start. I still need a measurment mic and get some adjustments done before I measure
