So.. this is a rough estimate of my room.. a little over 12'x10' -The plants are where i plan to put my monitors ![]() -My door opens the other way -any my window slides(it doesn't open in) -There is also a ceiling fan about right in the middle I'm away at college so I called my mom and had her give me dementions.. but i'm pretty sure its a little bigger both ways. I'm planning on using shaman's idea(or at least something similar) and getting the best sound I can for mixing! I'm not to concerned with recording because the majority of my stuff will be DnB, Trance, electro/pop. And i'm not going to use acoustic instruments much! Any suggestion? P.S. an alternative would be to put everything in the basement(which i have been doing) with cement walls and an unfinished ceiling, but I know I'll be less motivated if I'm hidden away in the basement all day.. But if its worth it I'd be up for it! Edit: Maybe this is the wrong place! If so.. I apologize in advance! |

I would flip it to put the bed where the desk is. It will give you better symmetry left and right. See the following for layout of acoustics. GIK Acoustics: Room Setup

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking acoustic panels: -one behind each monitor -Two to the left and right -Two on the ceiling -and 2, 3 or 4 on the opposite side ?? Does that seem alright? I'm not going for a fully professional sound, but something decent would be nice. Any ideas for where to put bass traps? Also my basement it just a huge open space and I'd be able to use a corner(the size being a little bigger than my bedroom) of the basement to.. if that'd be better! Thanks again! |

I was thinking I thinking maybe i could use this stuff: Owens Corning R-13 Kraft 15 In. x 32 Ft. x 3.5 In. Mini Continuous Roll, 40 Sq. Ft. - 139697 at The Home Depot Its all i could seem to find at Home Depot. So far I'm thinking.. -Triangle basstraps in the 3 corners.. double up on the stuff above -Two smaller ones on the ceiling -Two to each side -and two in the back ?? How does that sound? I'm a broke college kid so I can't do much! But i want to get the most out of what i can do! also what about the corner by the door? |
