GIK Room Kit Package #1 for rap vocals

well my question is will GIK's first kit be enough treatment for live recording/ mixing room in a 8 X 11 room.... I am recording rap/rnb vocals only no live instruments....i know it will make a difference b/c i currently have no treatment but i need a really clean vocal so i can use my vst's just for effects not to try to fix vocals....any help would be greatly appreciated

almost forgot only furniture will be a love seat/couch behind the computer desk sitting area i will post pic of layout when i get bac sorry....

The kit 1 is designed to get you started and as temetrepo pointed out it will get you on your way. You can always add more bass trapping and or panels to the room to further improve things. If and when you get the kit start to maybe think about a couple of the screen panels as those are great for recording vocals (and just about anything else) and can double as more trapping/general decay panels for the room. Like always though if you would like to send us your room layout we would be more then happy to guide you through the best set up.

The layout looks pretty good to me. I would put the couch on the left wall, but where you have it will still work.

Don't be afraid to experiment.

But generally speaking, the more corners you can traverse, the better. Thus you might expect the unit placed in the intersection of 2 walls to benefit by the abutment with an additional boundary surface intersection such as is provided by the ceiling and/or floor.

That all looks pretty good to me.. After you get your monitors in I would check it at that point and move a few of the panels if need be.

Yes, but I would wait until you get your speakers to make sure of the placement of them. Moving panels on the wall is pretty easy, but the ceiling is a bit harder. I really would try to get it right the first time.
