Thread Starter | How much does ultratouch compress
Need to make some new bass traps since I am going to be mounting a few of my existing ones on the ceiling. Has anyone built a traditional size 2'x4' trap with ultratouch? The thickness of the ultratouch is speced at 5.5". Wondering what dimensions of wood I should use. Also I will be using chicken wire since I know that it doesn't hold it's shape well. |

| It compresses nicely into a 4" frame. Use 1/2x4 poplar or similar. The Roxul Safe is a bit stiffer and lighter. The OC703 is even stiffer and really doesn't need much of a frame at all. -tINY |

| I put a decent finish on the wood frame and wrapped the cotton and the backer board (1/4 hardboard). Then I slid the wrapped part into the frame. So you see the frame around the outside and the fabric is stapled to the backer. -tINY |
