116, 123 HZ LOW MID BASE HEEELPP HOW TO KILL ?

My room is around 4.75, 3.9, 2.8 Meters

For some reason I get very annoying frequencies at 116, 123hz and low mid in general.

I do have some corner traps, but putting corner traps does NOT help midbass.

PS: i have table table thats quite big and height of table is around 70 cm, could it be a problem?

i m thinking my modes falls to 123

What kind of corner traps do you have now? Regardless, the solution is always more bass traps. Not small foam corners blocks, but real bass traps made of rigid fiberglass or similar material, large enough to work well to below 100 Hz.

1. Should i put bass traps on walls? 1/4 of walls?

I'm assuming you mean the foam sort, and if so, there's your problem. You simply don't have nearly enough effective absorption in the corners.

Frank

EDIT: I'd also look at what you've got above your head.

Just as a frame of reference, below is a comparison of real bass traps my company sells versus Auralex LENRDs and also the cheap LENRD imitations Foam by Mail sells. I post this not as an advertisement, but just to show you the difference between typical corner foam and real bass traps.

With real bass traps, and enough of them.

Bass traps work best in corners, though having more on the walls helps even further. It's not possible to make any small room perfectly flat at low frequencies. The more bass traps you have, the closer you'll get to flat. It's that simple.

RealTraps - ModeCalc

As Frank saids, take a look on the ceiling (reflection point - between your head and monitors) because 123hz is a height axial modal frequency, and you´ll certainly need thick aborption there.

The 116...I´m not sure.
But 109hz is related to lenght mode.

Thick traps (4" or more - rockwool or fiberglass) , that´s what you need (for corners and reflection points).

Thanks guys.

I solved problem temporarily:

I used 1/24 mic + Regular SPL Radio shack meter.

I put it where my head is.

Then i used 2 cardboard boxes put it under table in front of speakers.
And it reduces 123 and 116 by 3 db,

Then i put 2 auralex in front mid and top. and 2 in left corner.

Now my mix positions sounds like 5 db less boominess niice.

When i have extra cash i lll buy fiberglass traps etc.
