maximizing homemade 703 panel use in my room, thickness etc?

Hello,
I am in the process of building some acoustic panels/traps out of some 703 material I have purchased for treating my currently rented bedroom-studio. It seems like there are so many of these types of posts I've read but I have specific questions so I think I will follow suit.
I currently have 18 sheets of 2'X4'X2" 703, 4 of which are FRK faced. Thus far I have built 1 2" and 1 4" burlap covered panel. I am trying to figure out the best way to make use of the material I have left for my purposes. My room has the following dimensions:140"X120" X 8'high. Below is a shoddy not totally to scale diagram I made of my room to help clarify my description / situation.

The window is ear level with TV below it, and the red shows some of my basic planned locations to install panels. Speakers: Event Asp8 on separate stands

First of all, I realize my speaker and listening position isn't ideal, but at the time I figured it would be better to align the speakers into the longer dimension of the room (maybe I should put everything centered on the long window wall?)

My plan was to use 2" panels for ceiling, left, right first reflection points, 4" for 2 rear first reflection points and 4" with frk on all four ceiling-wall-wall corners (aligned horizontally instead of vertically).
This would leave me 3 2" pieces to add to my "pseudoanechoicloset" that I already have filled with lots of auralex like foam corner traps and pillows blankets etc. I might add that I can fill some of the wall wall junction points with some of the foam traps I have.

How does this plan look? Should I adjust thicknesses on some of the panels/relocate panels? My main problem seems to be hideous flutter echo and a big dip and subsequent peak in response around 90hz.
An individual who seemed to have built some elaborately treated studios swore to me the 703 style treatment so often prescribed is a lousy solution that won't affect anything below 500hz but suggested I cover my panels with pegboard to act as "diffuser-absorbers" and hang them with wire away from the wall from the ceiling- is this actually a good idea or should I run with my earlier plan?

Thanks!

From what I can tell you would be better to have the mix spot where the TV is.

Looks about right to me.

Thanks for the reply!
Hopefully, I can figure a way to effectively move things in that way without making the room impossible to walk around. If I do the rotation, I'm assuming I would just follow the same pattern for the treatment, although the right first reflection panel might need to go on the door somehow.

Thanks again!

Yes you can follow the following as a guide for placement.

I would use a LOT more on the ceiling, 4" min. 6" would be better.

Glenn Kuras:
Thanks for your reponse, I intend to rotate the room around in that manner. I was originally stuck on having the speakers fire in the long dimension of the room but I'm assuming symmetry is more important than the other ideal.

nosebleedaudio:
Why do you suggest specifically having a thicker panel on the ceiling? I could probably do this but I'm curious why the emphasis on the ceiling and not say the side first reflection points? Thanks!

Good deal on moving. As far as thicker for the ceiling, there are floor to ceiling modes that thicker panels will help with. If you can do it I would recommend it. thumbsup
