art panels?

What is ideal material if I wanna DIY art panels? I had many DIY panels with just some cotton wrapped around them. Now I wanna do some panels do make them look like paintings. What's the best material to do so?

Those GIG acoustic ART panels look wonderful! I wish I'd had money to order couple of those art panels. But I wanna do them myself.. my little spring project

Do you mean GIK art panels???

We use a process called Dye Sublimation. It basically dyes the fibers to form the picture rather then printing on top of fibers. Printing on top of the fibers (like screen printing) will effect the acoustic value where with the Dye Sublimation it does not.
You can see if you have a local printer that has the machine, but warning, doing the art work is the hardest part. You can just use a low res file for it.

Search on Google for this service. It can get kind of pricey with setup fees as I just had it done. One thing I am intrigued by is that there are a lot of these photo blanket sites popping up that will print onto a polar fleece material rather inexpensively. I am half tempted to try try one out and hack it up for trap use to see how it stands up.

Full Color Photo Blankets - Full Color Classic Photo Blanket - Custom Photo Blankets | Personalized Photo Blankets, Photo Pillows & Photo Handbags | Photo tote bags, & Photo purses | Picture Blankets & Personalized Photo Gifts

TreasureKnit® | Fleece Photo Blanket | Picture Blanket | Color Photo Throw

I have never used these companies, so don't take it as an endorsement. Just showing what I am talking about.

Painting foam will decrease the absorption. Not recommend.

Thought about something like this as well. Did anyone already try this?

My girlfriend ordered one of these as a back drop for a trade show booth, so I will see how it works once the trade show duty is over. Polar fleece should work as it is not terribly inhibitive of air flow.

She got the blanket from Inkgene.com | Photo Gifts and it looks great. It isn't polar fleece as I had thought but that sort of faux-fur. The graphics look very good however, she used slightly low res images so up close you can see some pixelation, though nothing obvious and terrible. The only "downside" is that it has a "grain" to it. Rub the fur one way (I am a grown up and will not giggle) and the image distorts, rub it the other way and it is fine. I am sure we have all seen carpet like this. (Man, low hanging comedy fruit here). Also, the fabric is very breathable. I would not expect any problems using it for a trap of any kind.

The only thing that might concern me is I don't know how well their online layout template will translate to real live sizes. So how close to 2'x4' will something really come out on the other end I don't know.
