Question How To Treat Windows and Doors in a Rental?

heylo!

i am renting 2 rooms in an old house. one room will be a makeshift control room and the other a recording room.

i am looking for advice on blocking as much sound as possible from the windows and doors in the recording room (of course!). being a rental, i can't do wholesale changes to the structure of the house.

can anyone provide an example (photo, sketch) of a workable solution?
i know "soundproofing" is virtually impossible, but anything ideas to lessen sound would be greatly appreciated.

my budget for this shouldn't be more than say 2K.

attached are pictures of the doors and windows.

thanx for your help!

Lots of weather stripping and fill the windows with insulation. That is about all you can do with out getting nuts. Past that, gobo like a mad man.

I have seen people build a "plug" out of mdf or sheetrock to put in windows like that with insulation in between the plug and the window. I would assume you'd need to caulk it or something to make it airtight. Anyway, it's a sort of temp solution but I can't speak to how effective it is having never tried it.
