Thread Starter | Some Random Questions About Treating My Room. Help Please!
hi guys. i'm about to make some acoustic panels, along with some super chunks. i'm going to be using rockwool rw45. i will (if possible) document the whole experience and upload some photos of the work. should be fun. ![]() just a couple of quick questions: 1. what's the best tool/blade to cut rockwool sheets with? i've never worked with it before. some suggestions would be very handy. 2. on the main wall of my room (the one that has the desk/monitors up against it) i have a 30 inch tv/computer screen mounted to the wall, with about a 4 inch air gap between the tv and the wall. is this going to be any sort of acoustic problem? i'm going to be mounting acoustic panels either side of it, plus one directly above it. 3. for the back wall (the wall behind me as i'm working), i'm going to put 2 acoustic panels at listening height. i was wondering if glueing some uneven auralex foam onto the front of the panels would help to make the panels double as diffusors. or, will that just be a waste of money? 4. i can't afford to do something major to my window. i also don't like the idea of having a "plug" type of panel. i'm thinking of just buying a very thick curtain as a cheap and practical option. anyone see that being a major problem? 5. i have two cheap and hollow doors in my room. i know the basic idea is to keep them air tight. however, whats the best (inexpensive) thing to cover them in once they are air tight? 6.the work top i have all my equipment on is made out of something cheap and it seems to vibrate a little bit. my monitors have those auralex foam things under them. my floor is also pretty bare. any ideas what i should cover them in? i was thinking something similar to the material used for car mats. i'm probably way wrong though. ![]() this isn't all the work i am going to be doing to my room, just a few of the things i was curious about. thanks for your help! |
