Just a quick question: Can I hang the panels from the ceiling or do i have to fix them to the walls?

Plus: Is it ok to use 3inch 30kg/m3 Rockwool or does it have to be the OC703 type with 45kg/m3?

1) Yes you can.
Space it from the ceiling ,if you can, equal the depth of the trap.
I mean for 3" trap space it 3" from the ceiling and so on

2) for 3 " i would go for the 45kg or more

thanks and sorry for my bad english. i went ahead and made a little sketch of my idea to avoid any misunderstandings. sorry for that.
my local building supplies store kinda screwed me over by selling me the 30kg/m3 instead of the 50kg/m3 so I have to deal with that. would you say it's impossible to do it? should i make them 6inches thick? would that be a solution to my problem?
thanks

6" is fine.

Start with the corners first.

Wall to celling and floor to ceillng.

Then you can put panells on the back wall, as thick as you can.
The thicker the better...but why don't you put those against the back wall but you want to hang them like that?

ps : my English is not better either

Hanging is fine.

3" is NOT enough for low end treatment. 4" at 45kg/m3 or so is the minimum thickness/density for good low frequency absorption, at least as far as porous absorbers go. 3" at 30kg/m3 would work well for high frequencies, but that's about it.
