Specific boomy spot in my room......

Ok.......so i bought some Auralex Bass Traps and a room kit.......

I have a square room......not big not small....average "bed room".

I set up the bass traps in all four corners.....and the rest of the 1 " stuff i didnt care much about but i put a bit on the ceiling and side walls.

My room is only boomy in one particular spot. (near one of the back corners) behind where i mix. What do you guys suggest i do to get rid of that boomy spot in my room?

As always thanks for any replies

.....my just in case..... my mixing spot is in the middle against one of the four walls.

You are going to need a lot more bass trapping to help wit the low end. See the following for room set up.

More likely is that your room response is a roller coaster of peaks and nulls. I agree with Glenn that you surely need more bass traps. But if you'd like to tackle this more scientifically, I suggest you measure your room so you'll know what's actually going on. Here's my standard list of room measuring links:

Room EQ Wizard, Windows and Linux and Mac OSX 10.4+, Freeware
ETF, Windows, $150
FuzzMeasure, Mac, $150
Using ETF explains how I use ETF, but the principles apply to all such programs.

Yes and thank you for 'piping up' your sincere thanks to Ethan.

I had some fun with my friends over this weekend.

I have a 21" woofer in a 16 cubic foot sealed box I built, powered by a 2k watt pro audio amp.

I used painters tape to mark a blue X on the floor near a wall, then another blue X near the middle of the room. The sound from one X to the other goes from booming to completely DEAD. Seeing the look on peoples faces is priceless. Even more so when the light bulb goes on, and they start to get the concept of peaks and valleys in the frequency response of the room.

I got one better. I just moved all my recording stuff to the new plant and got everything set up (no acoustics in place yet). I was playing someone a mix and they said "can you turn up the bass and kick?" I said sure take to steps back(I knew there was a build up there).
