Viable material for RFZ?

Hello,

today I came across a material in a local tools shop (Bauhaus) of which I would like to know if it can be used to create a RFZ. They call this stuff Dürenplatten, which is german, and returns NOTHING when googled ?!?

Is this useful? They charge 111 Euro ($ 162) for a 2m x 1m x 6cm sheet.

if its not acoustical foam...then dont buy it....there IS a difference between acoustical and regular foam.....

if you do use it.....will it make you room sound better? maybe...but probably not.....it will probably end up making it sound different..maybe not for the better....

i really dont like foam anyways....especially foam that looks like packing foam...

if you bought it at a local tools shop...then most likely its not acoustical foam anyways...

better to build you own panels than waste your money on that stuff...( its ridiculously overpriced)

hey takman,

I have not bought the foam, I was just wondering whether it is a viable material for a RFZ.

i know you havent bought it...

i think it will to a degree absorb the highs/mids to create a RFZ...but i still wouldnt buy it..or use it to create a RFZ..

for the money you would spend just to buy enough to creat a RFZ , you could build all the treatment you would need for your room ( bass traps and RFZ panels etc)
