Targeting bass, while keeping the Highs

So if I wanted to achieve this but didn't have access to the FRK, I could line the bass trap with a paper bag?? Or would a plastic work?
And should it only be practised on bass traps? or just not in spots that are considered direct reflections??

Lightbulb

Bag type paper and thin bag type plastic are both good.

I agree with Ethan. I would though go with FRK if you can because it is proven.

Hi Glenn, I've discovered that my small production studio could use some bass treatment to enhance the sound and translation of my demo tracks. I've decided to try you guys. I'm new to the acoustic treatment world other than having mopads, so I'd like to know, for a room slightly larger than this one for my new studio room, (and I will also pull the monitors and the whole setup away from the wall in the new setup), will 2 of your 244 bass traps work in each corner, or should they be placed directly behind each monitor? I think I will also place 1 monster trap in the rear behind the couch used for guests listening. Also, do your traps come with this FRK that is supposed to take care of the lows and reflect keep the mids and highs?

Hi Soundvoltron!

While you're first at it, try moving the speakers tweeter up! The interference pattern from horisontal speakers are .. ewww! The sweetspot will be extremely small, if you can even find it..

Doesn't this only happen when the drivers are outputing equal amounts
of the same frequency ? This would only happen around the crossover
frequency though that may still be a big problem.

Yep! It's in the Xover zone. That's usually bad enough as is!
