broadband bass traps from pvc pipe Hey guys, I'm currently building a small demo studio in a rented house i'm living in and i'm about to start contruction on some acoustic treatment. I've been trying to figure out a good way to build some bass traps that won't take up a ton of space that i don't have and just thought of the idea of making a tube frame out of 6, 8, or 10'' pvc pipe with almost all of the mass cut out, covering it in fabric, then filling it with loose rock wool insulation. Would this work at all if I put these in the corners? I'm sorry if this is a repeat thread, i'm reading about and writing this from my phone....no wifi at thanksgibing. Thanks!

Do a search on "DIY tube traps". Same idea but made out of cylindrical pipe insulation. Here's one site : DIY Tube TrapsYou'd probably have better luck with rectangular hang-em-on-the-wall absorbers if space is a concern. Paul P

Hey paul, those look really great! I'm definitely planning on buildimg lots of 2 and 4'' panels for the walls, but in terms of bass traps I'm not sure I have a ton of space to stradle 6-8'' deep rectangle traps over corners so that why I thought of gutting a big pvc pipe and filling it with rockwool. I also want to try to work with what I have available at local stores bc I don't live in a big city and I'm having trouble finding compressed or rigid insulation.
