Thread Starter | Live Room Traps All, I have lurked the forum for a long time now, and I think I have the basics. I have a question on the number of panels/size of panels. I know there are several threads on similar things, but I have read almost everything I can find and they do not address this specific question. I have a room that is about 16 feet long, maybe 13-14 feet wide, and the ceiling is about 10 feet high. All panels will have at least 2 inches exposed on the sides (the thickness doesn't matter, 2" will be exposed based on the plans I have for each). All traps will be spaced the appropriate distance from the wall (ie. the distance from wall = thickness of the panel). I have 36" of mineral wool in 2" x 2' x 4' slats (giving me 18 total). What I am wondering is, what traps should I build? Here are my thoughts, correct me if I'm wrong: I am doing at least 4 4" traps and putting a paper element on front (behind the fabric) to reflect some highs and keep the room somewhat live. I would do 3 more 4" traps with no paper on front to put around the room at different places. I would then do 4 2" traps to put 2 on the ceiling and 1 on each wall (all for first reflection). In total: 4 x 4" for corners 3 x 4" for back wall/general absorber 4 x 2" for side/ceiling first reflections Somebody tell me this is good or bad, please? PS - I have read the density report, all the stickies here, etc. Basically, everything i can find online before posting this, I've read it. |

What about the rest? That's helpful, by the way. I couldn't decide to do it on my own, because i know you're supposed to have coverage before thickness. Would you still recommend that, even if it means less coverage?

Well you could go with the 4", but make sure you space it off the wall 4". It is kind of a hard call as I really like 6" back there. thumbsup
