Bass trap material in New Zealand?

Hoping someone can help me out here, I have almost finished building myself a small space and it will time to build some traps soon. I have quite a bit of "Pink Batts Silencer" insulation left over after the build, assume this won't work as it is not very dense or rigid?

I've had a search around but cannot find a source for OC 703 in NZ, wondering if anyone knows where I could get some from or if there is an alternative available here.

Cheers!

Look into rockwool which is an alternative to fiberglass. There is surely
someone selling the stuff in NZ :
"Rockwool are the most widely used insulation materials in
Australia and New Zealand, and worldwide."

You want something around 50kg/m3 density.

Thanks Paul, did some searching around and found that Bradford Fibertex 350 Rockwool should be ideal and available here.

If you have access to Bradford stuff, you can use Ultratel, which is the equivalent of the OC703. you want the unfaced variant. (A bit expensive though...)

If you've plenty of the pink batts left over, you could pack 'em tightly into some soft of cage and get a reasonable panel.

Old Thread.... but anyways -
In Auckland -
'Forman Building Systems' in Penrose have Fibretex 250 or 820. They also sell Novahush which is non-glass fibre acoustic treatment. Stick it stright on the wall. Also sell othewr products.

Another place to check -
'Potter Interior Systems' also in Penrose, have a good glass fibre boards with material on one side, 'Kimmco Insulation'.
Potter's also sell a product called 'QuietStuf' made in New Zealand by 'Autex Insulation'

One other source is 'Allproof' on the North Shore.
