Before i go to the carpenter...

Hello there.
I went shoping today and bought some nice black fabric and and a package of rockwool 100kg/m3 in 5cm thick 60 length and 100cm height, this package contains 8x pieces.

My room is somewhat like this

3,84m x 3,7m x 3,56m x 3,35m And with height somewhere 2,95cm.

My questions are:
Should i build 4 traps or 8 traps?
Should i leave as much expossed area with rockwool as possible on the traps?
How much distance should i leave from wall?

Thanks in advance kostas

thats difficult to say, but in general..the more bass traps the better

yes, as long as it is covered with fabric

the general rule is, the distance from the wall should at least be the thickness of the panel. so a 5cm thick panel should be spaced 5cm from the wall.

Bass traps that cover a corner are a different. you just mount them so that the edges are touching the wall.

This is key. You really want to straddle the corner with the trap. See the following LAME video I did on it.

Jimma thanks but i already read it. My problem is that i dont live in a quite big city (200k citizens) and my rockwool market is somewhat restricted.
One of the bigest warehouses here with insulation materials had one the best manufactured rockwool with the most certifications in europe and it was the one i bought. The problem is that he had only 100kg/m3 densities.
Well money are not a problem atm so

Takman thanks a lot m8 (we are some greeks around here)

10cm traps -> with fabric and 10 cm from wall !!! Thats the info i was looking for

I will build the first 4 now and soon i am going for round 2 with another 4

Any other info of course is welcome
Cheers

Edit: Glen thanks for the info btw i saw this video long time ago.

cool vid glenn...

i had some thoughts and questions here...

i was thinking about finding or making a thin rubber piece that fits over the edge of the panel that will be touching the wall, to isolate the panel from the wall...

The wall and the panel will be resonating differently correct? Maybe it doesnt make a difference, or isnt worth the effort...

But i was thinking that when low frequencies penetrate the panel, it might cause it vibrate against the wall?

I have never seen that happen before. The weight of the panel keeps it in place.
