Soundproofing Foam help

Hello to all!

i am in a dilemma, i am a musician, who is currently working on soundproofing my bedroom so that i can record vocals and i also have a drumset in the room. so as you can imagine, the room can get loud with all the sheetrock. i originally went to the store, and found Auralex, but unfortunately, my wallet didn't like the sight of it as much as i did, so i proceeded to look online to find cheaper alternatives. i found the infamous foam by mail, and was ecstatic, due to the very buyer friendly price. but as i continued to read further, people seemed to have problems with it. why? if foam by mail is not something i should use then my question is this: why isn't it sufficient? and is there anything cheap that i can order to use as a deadener that will work well? (i would like to stay away from hanging blankets in my room due to aesthetic reasons)

let me know!

thank you all!

Lightbulb

Foam and fiberglass insulation do not "soundproof" a room to prevent sound transmission. So even good foam won't help that.

As for FBM, what they sell is inferior even though their "data" claims they're the same as Auralex. You can see a proper comparison between FBM and Auralex in the graph below, measured in a lab for comparison with my company's products.
