Best sized traps

I have a small room 11 x 9 ft.

I have foam panels and foam bass traps in the room. I want to treat the lower end more.

What are peoples opinions:

Should I build two floor standing bass traps that are 6 or 8 inch deep?

Should I build some panels to sit behind the monitors 4 or 6 deep?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

James

What you need are corner bass traps 4 inches thick (or more) made of rigid fiberglass.

So 8" is not too much.

Should I not build something to go behind the speakers.

8 inches is not too much. It's impossible to have too much bass trapping.

As for the wall behind the speakers, see this:

It may or may not help with SBIR.
Learn what is SBIR (Speaker Boundary Interface Response).
