Thread Starter | Before finishing these traps..
I would like a little advice from anyone who would like to help out. At the moment I have 4 out of 10 bass traps already built. They are 2x4 4inch, using oc703 and on the 4 that are already made they have frk material on the outside piece facing the room. pics at bottom of page here How I built my bass traps... The room these are going in is around 15x13x9, carpet floor. My original plan is to have two traps in each corner behind the speakers stacked to the ceiling with the frk on them. 1 in each back corner with frk. 2 on the backwall with no frk and 1 on each sidewall with no frk. From what I have been reading this is the correct way to go about this. But considering the small room size is this too much frk? Should I just build the rest without it? or just continue with my plan. I just want to double check what I am doing so I can get it right the first time.. Thanks to everyone on this forum for the help I have gotten so far, I am learning a lot about acoustics and knew nothing before reading here. |

| I don't think so. My general "rule" is to have FRK on all corner traps, and no FRK on all panels at the side-wall and ceiling reflection points. Other places can go either way, unless those places are also nearby reflection points. For example, the rear wall behind you should not have FRK if it's less than ten feet away. --Ethan
