Using Heating Insulation for Bass Traps

I have a bunch of left over heating duct insulation 1" thick. My HVAC guy purchased too much.

Can I use this material for bass trapping? Is OC 703 or Mineral Rock wool THAT much more effective?

Thanks for your thoughtful answer!

If you make it really think (6" or more) it can work well. Either that or fill the corner with it.

It is not that it is more effective, but you can use thinner panels, when using 703. Well actually from the testing I have seen the 703 at 6" is more effective then 6" of the fluffy stuff, but not by all that much.
