| Lives for gear | Using Heating Insulation for Bass Traps
I have a bunch of left over heating duct insulation 1" thick. My HVAC guy purchased too much. Can I use this material for bass trapping? Is OC 703 or Mineral Rock wool THAT much more effective? Thanks for your thoughtful answer! |

If you make it really think (6" or more) it can work well. Either that or fill the corner with it.

| It is not that it is more effective, but you can use thinner panels, when using 703. Well actually from the testing I have seen the 703 at 6" is more effective then 6" of the fluffy stuff, but not by all that much.
