Small Room Help!

Hello all, I'll try not to be too long winded

I'm trying to figure out how to treat the room below for drums. It is 12' by9.5' by 8'. As you can see, I have the corners trapped with 6" of membrane fiberglass and rockwool. Also you can see I have two diffusers randomly up right now. Not in the pictures are 2 finished 4" traps, four more sheets of 2" 703 left to build, and have a bunch of DIY panels made of acoustic tile from Home Depot. Oh, and the drum riser is sitting on vibration isolators.

I do know where the reflections points are on the parallel walls and the ceiling tile takes care of it when I put it up. I also know I need to cover the ceiling. So.... My questions are:

What are the uses for my DIY ceiling tile panels? (I assume they are just going to absorb the highs).

Can I put them above the drums or am I better off using the 703 at 2"?

Are the diffusers of any help in such a small space?

Thanks for reading and any answers would be appreciated!

MY .02.

The carpet you have layed down (which isn't the greatest absorber) does help with standing waves.

I would try to eliminate as much of the parallel reflections on the walls as possible. I like the diffusor opposite the window, but maybe some more diffusion would benefit.

Bass trapping looks good, if you can get the edges around the ceiling, you would see benefits.

After that, set up the instruments and play with placement on the walls and ceiling till you yeild the best results, you may find something over the drums will help.

Test, play, test, play...etc etc

I would pull off any kind of facing, if he have them and stack them up to make them 2" thick.

Either will work if they are the same thickness (see above of my last comment)

Yes but try not to mount them right around the drums as diffusion needs space to work properly.

Thanks guys, appreciate it.
Is there a certain length at which the diffusers need to work? Not much space in this tiny room. From the drums the furthest I can get is about 5 feet.

One more question. Is the window going to create a problem? Should I cover it as well or just pull the shade down? Thanks again!

5 feet should be good.

The only problem with the window is sound will get in from the outside. But then again it is good as low end with go through it.

Ok, I'm having trouble understanding acoustics apparently. I did the ceiling and moved the diffusion away from the drums and spaced them equally.

Problem is When I use the drum riser in the picture, my floor tom turns to cardboard. When I get rid of the riser and play on carpet, the floor tom (yes it's tuned well) sounds gorgeous. Am I mistaken or isn't carpet bad for drums? Can anyone answer this? Thanks!

No the carpet is not a bad thing. I can help with flutter echo. The trick is not to use carpet EVERYWHERE. Like on the walls and ceiling.
