home studio panel build and placement advice

Hi ya,

Just bought my first house and so I'm planning on turning one room into a recording + mixing studio. I have some panels right now used in my rented house but I'd like to take much more care in the placement/consruction of the panels now that it's a much more permanent setup.

I've uploaded a layout of my new home studio room and below is the specs on the two types of material I have at the moment, both I have covered in a simple cotton "blow through OK" material.
I have used the Ultratel so far in other rooms for early reflection points front, side and above. The floppier Fibertex stuff I have just shoved into the corners.

I guess what I'm most interested in is how I can most effectively use what I have now as bass traps, I'm happy to do new construction if need be, wooend frames or whatever.

Any advice would be fantastic.

Thanks,

Simon

My panels:
4 x 900mm x 750mm x 50mm panels of Bradford Fibertex Rock wool (quite floppy stuff)
(tested to AS 1045-1988)
125 250 500 1000 2000 4000 5000 NRC
0.21 0.69 1.13 1.15 1.16 1.18 1.14 1.05

6 x 600mm x 1200mm x 50mm of Bradford Ultratel (stiffer stuff, holds its shape)
(tested to AS 1045-1988)
125 250 500 1000 2000 4000 5000 NRC
0.34 0.65 1.23 1.11 1.08 1.02 0.98 1.02

Just cover as many corners as possible and the early reflection points. Honestly it really is that easy.
