Can a bass trap be bent?

I'm wondering, if you took what looked like a punching bag, 8 feet long and stuffed with Owens Corning 703, could it be effective at all?

That would be really nice here, if a good bass trap could be in the corner and out of the way.

Much appreciate any good train of thought on that one

Sure, you can make a bass trap in any shape. For broader band absorption, the fabric wrapping the insulation should be breathable (if you press your lips on the fabric and blow, you should be able to "penetrate" the fabric and feel your breath on the other side of the fabric).

Also, the density of the insulation matters, but it seems like you'd be using 703 which when layered (4 inches or more) is great for bass absorption. So long as any bending/shaping you're doing doesn't spread the insulation too thinly (as long as you have thickness) you're fine.

It just comes down to "more is better". The shape really does not matter.
