bass trap Placement

does it matter if my traps are 2 inches from the corner walls?
The way I designed my traps the base plate will not let them go completely "snug" in the corner there about an 1.5 out from it. I thought it might be good since the frame is on the back not on the sides therefore the 4 inches in the side absorb as well...
thoughts...

It is always better to have them touching but it still will work with how you have it.

Cutting away at the trap will remove absorbing material, so I would not recommend it.

Glen,
Let me re word that question....I have a 2 x 8 plate on the bottom of my frame that makes the trap freestanding. The corners of the plate is what keeps it from touching the corner. I can angle the plate w/o removing fiberglass. wish i had a pic handy
