Thread Starter | Particular standing-wave question...
I've got plenty of vertical corner bass trapping in my studio but i am getting a hell of a lot of resonance between 120-160Hz... which implies a resonant wavelength of about 2.5m - the height of my ceiling. Moving my head up and down, I find a null at the floor and a massive resonance 1.25m above the floor at the listening position. So I decide to get more trapping for the ceiling. However if that indeed were the resonance, shouldn't it be a null at 1.25m, with peaks at 0.675? and 1.875m? Or am i wrong? |

The room height of 2.5m gives a first modal frequency of 68Hz. The second mode is at ~ 136Hz. So, what you are experiencing is probably the second modal frequency. But it could be that other dimensions are adding their effect. |
