Thread Starter | anyone superchunking their wall/ceiling corners?
I'm currently building superchunks in all 4 wall/wall corners of a bedroom studio by stacking triangles of 703 floor to ceiling. Now I want to cover the wall/ceiling corners as well. Is this advisable with superchunks? or would straddling panels be the way to go? And if you are doing superchunks like this, how are you attaching them? Any input would be appreciated, thanks! |

yeah i'm not a hammer king either, that's why i was looking for some inspiration. all the wall/ceiling traps I've seen people using have been straddled panels. I'm assuming that's just because they are easier to hang.

I did one in my mixing room, which is broken up with these great wide angles except one corner. I think we used 6-7 703 panels... and just glued them together on the floor, wrapped in fabric and glued it into the corner. Yours will look much better i'm sure. Previously we just had panels breaking up the corner, and I did notice an improvement. Not so much in the bass but it tightened the room up further up the scale.

Just make it square. This is a 30cm frame filled with glasswool and covered with fabric.

If you do go with a corner trap, the easiest way to cover it is to start with the factory edge side of your fabric. Start covering by tacking it at the top, then let it hang. It will hang square. Then wrap your edges... Don't pull your fabric real tight. Just pull it tight enough that there's tension on the fabric and it's smooth. With the fabric I used, I was able to effectively stretch about 2 feet of material at a time. | |
