Yet another stupid bass trap question(maybe).

Hey everyone. I have a quick question. I am cleaning out our storage closet and discovered that I have about six plastic storage tubs that are about 2'x3'x2' and they are about 1/8" thick plastic. I was wondering if anybody thinks I might get any effective trapping if I stuffed a bunch of fluffy pink stuff and shoved them in my front corners. KInda like some really bad version of a corner trap. Then I might be able to also utilize them as some type of shelf/storage space,if I get really creative.

Thanks a lot.

oops, btw, I forgot to mention that I will putting lids on them and stacking them in the corners.

The plastic will deflect sound, not absorb it.

You can build real bass traps for around $30 ea. using rock wool , wood and burlap.

Bass will go through thin plastic like that, so you could make traps that way. They're large enough if you stack them from floor to ceiling. I'd pack the fiberglass to maybe 1/3 it's original size. That will be dense enough to be similar to 703 rigid fiberglass.

Thanks very much Ethan. Unfortunately I cannot stack them from floor to ceiling b/c IF(and it's a BIG if) I can do some creative rearranging of the bedroom,I still need to be able to sit stuff on top of the boxes and have access to that stuff. So, I might be able to stack them- 2,MAYBE 3 high.

I know I have bass issues everywhere, but on the floor corners in front of me is where I can REALLY hear it and I am hoping that this little plan might help with some of that.

THANKS AGAIN!
