covering rigid fiber glass.... help please!

When building absorption panels, i know that you can put the 705FRK 16" from the wall with a wooden fame but instead of covering the front frame with special cloth, can u cover it with carpet or a plywood then carpet over the plywood? Would it make much of a difference if so then what kind and how much of a difference? What about the backside of the frame? Also what is a good diffusor that you can build. I know of bending the plywood but that acts more like a deflector.

Yeah, what you cover it with makes a huge difference to the sound. Even a thin cloth like material will make for a much more lively (still controlled mind you) sound compared to the rigid fg. I wouldn't put ply over the front side, try burlap with ply on the back.

Don't use wood...

Just use a heavy fabric.

Bending the wood would be a poly which will work well if you are more then around 6' from them. Also a QRD is pretty nice.
