Electronic forum recommending treatment, but can I afford it?

So, an unrelated discussion turned in a discussion about treatment for my small "home office" studio. I only have a budget of about $500 to $1,000. The room in question is your standard suburban home office but with 12 ft ceilings.

The guys in Electronic are recommending I go with the GIK stuff. I have emailed them but have not heard back. The question is, can I get effective treatment with such a low budget? Is $500 - $1000 worth of treatment going to make enough of a difference to be worth it?

Here is a pic of the layout:

If you can do basic woodwork and stretch fabric yourself, you can easily do it. It'll cost you some time, though.

I'd completely kill that back wall to avoid focusing. Then add some corner traps where you can.

Sure with a room your size that budget will get you pretty darn far.. You could always follow up later with more treatment if need be.

BTW you said you contacted us? Could you send me a quick email so I can follow up on it? My email is glenn dot k at gikacoustics dot com.
