Thread Starter | identifying acoustic panels
So I picked up 5 large acoustic panels today from...get this....goodwill. I saw these things and I thought, score! those must have come from a studio. Very well built. Wooden frames, thick insulation covered in thin meterial inside, covered on the front with a thick black cloth. Nothing else they could be. I need em, so I grabbed them all for $40. I would like to at verify the materiel inside these if possible. Like is it 703 or whatever else? I don't want to take them apart yet so I'll describe what the stuff feels like and maybe that'll be enough to tell. When I press on the insulation from the back it feels like tight/compressed slightly crunchy materiel. As in not cotton. Could this be rigid fiberglass? It is completely sealed in a materiel so I cannot see it. The texture it probably not enough to tell but I figured I'd ask before I took em apart as I don't have a stapler. Any help is awesome! thanks! |

If you can cut a small hole in one of them. I will say that the crunchy word does sound like rigid fiberglass
