ats acoustics rigid fiberglass vs owen's corning 703?

ATS acoustics advertises their rigid fiberglass as "an exact substitute for Owens Corning 703. Sound absorption, density, appearance, and physical properties are virtually identical"

Has anyone used and/or tested this lower cost ATS brand insulation versus the OC?

ATS Acoustics Rigid Fiberglass Board

Thanks!

Any update with the lab reports? I'm curious about the same. $20 difference for a bundle makes a big difference in the end.

Also curious about the idea that these panels in general (2 inch and 4 inch) needing to be mounted slightly off the wall to increase effectiveness? If I am using these for first reflection points and other various reflection points around the room I should mount them slightly off the wall? Also if I'm using the 4 inch panels for bass trapping in the corners I'm assuming they will naturally have an open cavity behind them to act as that needed "space".

Do you guys stuff extra insulation behind those corner wall panels to even further increase their capabilities as bass traps?

ATS vs. Owens Corning 703

I'm currently debating between these two as well. Wondering if anyone has seen a difference as well.

i have both the ATS stuff and the OC 703. they look different, but to my (not great) ears they sound pretty close to each other. i am now looking to get the even cheaper rock wool stuff for treating my CR and live room as the absorption is supposed to be very close. i'll order more soon, but i just remembered i have one more box of the ATS stuff in the garage...

I just got finished making a pair of absorbers using this material. I have a pair of GIK bass traps as well, and while I didn't do any kind of direct comparisons between the two the absorbers were definitely effective.

There are only a limited number of companies that make rigid fiberglass board. Owens Corning/ Johns Manville / Knauf (Cadillac of the industry) / Certainteed / Manson. Wonder what brand that site is buying and I wonder why they dont mention the brand? Maybe from outside the US?
