Question Is My Room Too Small?

My mixing room is 5.5' wide x 9.5' long x 7' high. Basically a large closet. Is it even worth investing in room treatment?

If it's completely empty I'm sure you could do some 'magic'

That's pathetically small, but the answer is Yes. Adding a bunch of bass traps is the only way you'll be able to make a room that size useful.

Yep it is pathetic :-) but my only option until I can relocate the furnace and then remodel my basement. Thanks for the answer Ethan. Your web site is very helpful as well.

The good news is whatever bass traps you make or buy now, they can all be moved to your new space when it's ready.

I've seen smaller rooms than that work. You'll have to monitor at low-ish volumes, but after some treatment you'll be okay.
