Steve, I use it frequently in conjunction with stretch fabric finishes. It is essentially a higher density version of UltraTouch bonded cotton insulation. Auralex offers a nice version as does Acoustical Solutions. A 1" version is acoustical similar to 1" 703, if that helps. Good for general reflection control. |

Thanks Jeffrey. Very useful information. I'm thinking of trying it for a large gymnasium project, seems it could be cost effective. Any experience using these raw panels for that kind of application? Steve |

Steve, It is a great product in that application providing the aesthetics are accepted...it can take impact beyond most any other option, very durable. Typically gym treatments are above "pick" height which is good because kids can tend to pick at SonoFiber edges. However, in a gym space it is fully important to implement a solution that addresses the acoustical issues of the space as determined by proper study of room factors: volume, surfaces, geometry, functions. Sonofiber can solve many common gym issues...just suggesting you get appropriate analysis to determine first the existing issues; and then should SonoFiber be appropriate, have good plan for qty, thickness & location. |

Also, SonoFiber (and similar from Acousticsl Suloutions) has Class A Fire Rating.

I appreciate your comments Jeffrey. I will probably get some samples and consider this product. Steve |
