Acoustic Upgrade need help.....

Hi everybody

After long time that i am working with some cheap and unusuful foams that really wont help me with the low-mid frequencies i got decision to upgrade my studio acoustic (I should do that long time a go .....)
i am using my home studio for making electronic music,my room size are

2.80 meters long
3.00 meters width
2.80 meters height

i were thinking a bout adding 6-8 bass trap from mineral wool(where i should put them apart from the corners?)
carpeting the concrete and maybe changing my desk area....

one more thing should i take out my closet that i have and move the desk to there???
any suggestions or different ideas???

thanks,

pini

That looks good, but you should move some of the foam on the front wall behind the speakers to the side-wall reflection points. On the right side that's probably right on the door. Besides the 12 corners in a room, the rear wall behind you is another good place for bass traps because in a small room that's a source of "early" reflections too.

Trap the hell out of every corner in that room!

Like Ethan said, there are 12 corners!

I would superchunk the wall/wall corners and mount some panels where the ceiling meets the walls.

Take care of 1st reflection points to the sides (I've been using a mirror to find those) and think about hanging a cloud over your listening position to take care of early ceiling reflections.

Also make sure to definitely have thorough coverage on your rear wall... and also behind your speakers as your room is nearly square.

Good Luck!! I'm a bit tipsy but will be back to help elaborate some more, and hopefully learn while I'm at it

Thanks for your answers!

what do you think should i take out the closet?

It"s a built in closet and its 0.50 meters depth.

on the front wall(where the foam on) sould be the 4" bass traps or the 6" bass traps?

As Eitan said "

do you think a panel on a stand will work? or the door should get better treatment?

Thanks ,

Pini
