Thread Starter | Ceiling treatment The basement drum room we record in is 8’6” x 11’11” and has a 7’ ceiling. The floor is carpet and the walls are sheet rock. The ceiling has R-11 and is sheet rocked. Recording for us is a hobby. We do not mass-produce CD’s and most of our gear is mid-priced stuff. The only people that hear our finished product are family and friends. I have 4 bass traps that I put in the corners of the drum room. I’m looking for suggestions to tame the ceiling without having to buy anything. That is, can I use comforters, pillows, or other household absorbing items to place on the ceiling and would it make any sonic improvement to our basement drum recordings? |
