Thread Starter | Question About Rigid Fiberglass Hey All, I made myself a 2 x 4 (2” thick) acoustic panel (OFI BMC Board Faced Rigid Fiberglass) for my mixing room. The problem is that my mixing room is my bedroom where I sleep. I wanted to know if the rigid fiberglass is safe especially when I am sleeping and constantly being in the room. What I did was I wrapped the face of the 2 x 4 panel with black cloth and on the back I covered the remaining empty space with a thick garbage bag so no particles would fly out. Here are pictures. Thanks. ![]() |

This is a area that is unknown BUT I would remove it and cover it with a breathable fabric. Maybe the stuff you put on the back? BTW you don't need to worry about fiberglass "flying" into the air. You would need to pound on it and even if you did it would not hurt you at all. Glenn
