Thread Starter | how to fabric walls does anyone know of a good site or thread about how to fabric walls and/or angled corners? I just finished sheet rocking and am considering putting fabric on the walls in some areas. Would like to research the technique before committing to the idea or ruling it out. I did a search on here but found little to null on "how to" Much Thanks!!

| I basically put 1" x 2" on the wall at about 5' intervals left to right, and along the floor and ceiling, to create rectangles. Between the 1" x 2" I put odd pieces of soundboard, acoustical tiles, Auralex, and other hand and soft materials in random patterns. I stretched the fabric over the 1" x 2" and stapled. I took 1" x 4"s and stained them, then glued rocks on them to make them randomized hard surfaces. I mounted them over the 1" x 2" to hide the staples. you can see it here: Kronos Recording Studio - Studio pictures Also, after it was done, I pulled the fabric and changed materials here and there as I sought to change the sound until we liked it. I am sure there are other ways, but that was I did. |

Other wise it's just old crap. JS Bach or Beethoven never used auto-tune or comp tracks, nor an eq, a compressor/limiter, a reverb or a delay an analog or digital mix system. All that was achieved in the writing and performance of the music. Obviously Bach and Beethoven were doing it wrong. |

| Lives for gear | If you look in the studio construction thread I think you will find a lot of info on it. As I recall there is even someone who posts there that does it for a living.
