Thread Starter | i have 10 Sonex pyramid... now where... how many
Hello guys i know that question come up often but as everyone room is different and as i only have 10 sonex... i prefered to ask you before putting them on sunday... here is the deal... my room is a rectangle of 2.58m x 3.95meters. i have 10 sonex pyramid of 3" thick and 61x61cm... i though about maybe using 4 panels for the first reflection in my mix position so one for each side and 2 for the ceilling... then i could have 4 more for the back of the room and still have 2 for my walking closet that i would like to use as a recordind booth for singer. or should i use more foam in the mix area like 4 for the ceilling or 2 on each side etc etc... i dont know what to do i have a carpet on the floor under my chair on the mix area. the wall on the back of my monitors is covered with wood. i use blue sky system so its 2 monitors and a subwoofer that will be under my desk... i already have bough two Auralex Gramma, one for the sub and one to put my mac pro on and external hard drive on the side so they will be less noisy (not so much noisy already but i though it can be usefull and also then my mac pro is not directly on the floor... with dust -=- ) can you help me a bit ? thanks |

First of all you should take advantage of any help the company might give you. Have you contacted them to ask? I would be interested in there thoughts. But with that said I would focus that foam on the early reflection points, as you pointed out, but would not for the back wall. You really need THICK (I like 6") absorption back there. I did not hear anything about bass trapping. Are you going to work on that part?

My japanese being limited anyway i couldnt have asked too much lol i dont know what to do for bass traping iam soon out of money lol but i do have those !0 sonex... i though its better than nothing ok then i will concentrate in the front, for the first reflexions... ah the back would need 6" ! thats why its better to use diffuser for the back ? Actualy for the story lol i contacted your company first, but saddly it was too much for the shipping for me so i couldnt order from you but i would have liked... |

You can put diffusion on the back wall but also put some thick absorption to help with nulls and peaks coming from that area.
