Which diffusors for this room

Hopefully someone can help me decide on which diffusors would suit my tracking room best(drums, guitars, full bands, etc). Love the sound of big, reverby, yet controlled sounding rooms. I've got proper bass trapping in all the corners and additional traps available (about 4 more) until I decide if and where I need them.
I don't want to overdeaden at all.

First off, dimensions;

37' length, 11' wide, 9' ceiling. Drywall/plastic walls, ceilings. Kind of a canyon eh!?

Got some flutter going on, that I think is do to the walls being so narrow (11'), but nothing too bad, and assume it can be controlled with diffusion.

Anyways, what diffusors should I go with? Polys, QRD, skylines, etc?

Polys look pretty easy to build, and commercially seem to be cheaper, but I hear QRDs might be more suited for smaller rooms. Just need some clarification.

In terms of placement, is it better to put diffusors on a back wall(say closer to the kit) or up on the ceiling? Combo perhaps? 9' ceiling so I'm curious if a poly will be effective above a kit.

Any advice is appreciated.

RPG Diffusor Systems

I've just ordered the RPG bad arc panels which are a combination diffsorber using a binary diffuser plate. This arent installed yet so I cant rave about them, but i chose them because of their visual appeal and technology to deal with flutter and delay times in a small room after getting an acoustician to measure the room and make recommendations.

The diffsober aims to diffuse the higher frequencies evenly within the room, keeping some of the lively feel but without confusing the ears with too much focused HF reflection. If they are mounted off the wall a bit the low end absorption is extended.

I definitely prefer QRD style diffusors. But, if you're going to DIY, you'll have a much easier time building polys.

For more on the differences between types of diffusors (and bookshelves, etc), see our Diffusion video: RealTraps - All About Diffusion

For your room size polys are going to work fine. If you get close to a diffusor (like on that Real Trap video of it 6") a poly does not perform as well, but with your size room it, well, YOUR FINE. You have to remember that polys just need a little more space to function properly.

So what is considered too close? Probably not an easy answer.

Would it be more benefical to put polys on the ceilings, back of the room, side walls? I would think side walls in my situation wouldn't be great since the walls are only spaced 11' apart and with instruments inside of that...maybe things would start to sound funny. Again, not an easy thing to answer, but maybe someone has experience with it.

Thanks again

What's considered too close? Depends on the diffuser. You'd want your source 6' or more from a QRD like our D1, but that'd be easy to do in your room.
