Thread Starter | Low Density Glasswool as Chunks?
A friend just gave me a roll of this stuff Thermolan UNIFIT TI 140 U 100mm (4") http://www.knaufinsulation.lt/thermolan®-unifit-039 Can't find any info on it except this Building Physics Database - Thermolan Unifit TI 140 U which is a good database for density specs for Austrian insulation by the way in case anyone else is here. Probably good for other Euro materials also. It says that it is 15.00 kg/m3 My question is, if it is very roughly one third the density of 703 do I have to make it three times the size of 24" faced superchunk to have the same effect? If so than I will make a really thick (12" or more) overhead with it since I have the ceiling space. Also ...anyone else in Austria ? I am having trouble finding sources for dense stuff in Vienna. as always...praise to the gurus l |

I have a good experience with not so dense material (not 15,but 32kg/m³). I used to make my ceiling cloud and front wall/ceiling trap. Both are thick (8" and 14") and works pretty well .For what I read and my (little) experience if you did the panels more than 6" + gap, this lighter material will do an excellent job. 12" overhead plus some gap overhead will rocks...
