Fuzzmeasure help!

basically ive got three of the same measurement that i want to average.

i can average them together using the 'average' tool, but i want to be able to compare 2 sets of averaged resutls,

so ive got three of set one
and three of set two
i can average them as a set, so all 3 = set 1, but i cant then compare set 1 and set 2.

has anyone got any idea how i do this?

RMS

There is an RMS averaging plug- in available somewhere on the website.
email Chris for download details. Once installed this will appear in the Plug-in menu. This creates a new RMS averaged curve. You could also try a screenshot (apple shift 3 I think). I reckon FM3 Pro has this type of activity more sorted.

You can either use the time-domain averaging routine, which can be found in the Measurement > Time Domain Combine menu, or the RMS average plugin that can be found at Downloads - smug - Google Code

Download the RMSAverage.tbz archive to get the plugin.

I'm going to try working on the RMS stuff a bit more, and hopefully integrate it into the main feature set (under the Measurement > Frequency Domain Combine menu), but I can't make any promises.

I don't really like what the RMS average operation does to the resulting impulse in the time domain (you have to leave the analysis window as-is, and not touch the measurement record once you make the RMS average, for instance). As a result, I'm hesitant to roll it in until I can work around that issue (or lower my standards, and just live with it).

Let me know if there's anything else.

Cheers,

Chris
