Rockwool Panels Density ?

Hi all,

I'm having problem choosing rock wool panels density - The sales man told me they have the following product :
1- Rigid Panels : density varies between 90 - 140 KG/m3.
2- Semi-rigid Panels : density varies between 40-80 kg/m3.

I'll use it to build my first bass traps for my 2 small rooms (H 6.3’ W 7.75’ D 7.1’).

I'll make 50 piece with the following measures to cover all the corners :
H 24"
W 16"
D 3 "

Thanks in advance

The various densities work best for particular duties...for example, 48-60kg/m3 densities work well for broad band control, while higher densities will absorb more low end down lower, but not as much high end. What you use depends entirely on what you're trying to achieve. If you're going to treat the whole room with one density, then I'd go with 60kg/m3 in panels of varying thickness. It's hard to go wrong with that.
