What would produce RESULTS in my small room? That is the task.

A. Getting some absorbers made and hang some in my room for around 1k or ...

B. Give the nice guy that designs studios 1000.00 to look at my 16' x 15' room and
say that all that can be done is absorption and a little diffusion.

It's not an option to design a room from scratch with most people. I'm sorry. A person gets that bug and wants to record and just want to work with what they have. WE CAN'T AFFORD A DESIGNER.

Knowing what i know now when I get an extra million or two slotted for studio construction. I will hire a design staff. Let them handle the ruff stuff and all I have to do is record and mix. Oh and pay the bill.

It may sound silly but that's the way it is.

I agree on that when things are under low budget.

But pro-gear and pro-acoustics give professional results.

I think this is the difference between home studios and professional studios

Yes, get absorbers and put them in the room. Pro consultants are a good investment, but only if you have the budget for the consultant and for the treatment you'll have to get anyway.
