Thread Starter | can there be too much bass trapping..?
i have a small room... 12x12, and its square the hole back wall is layered with rockwool 4inches thick with 2x4 wood dividers every 2 feet. From ceiling to the floor the hole back wall it treated this way with burlap coving the rockwool... i was thinking about adding 9-12 24x48 basstraps in the room along with the huge back wall trap. is that to much or no such thing? im using jbl lsr4328s and hr824s... i have a jbl lsr4312 subwoofer also but havent set it up in the room yet b/c i figured it would be too much at the moment. |

You can never have enough bass traps, at least in a square room. The usual suggestion would be to go for FSK facing so the room would not sound too dead in the higher range frequencies. FSK will also help with the absorption in the lower range so it's a win win.

ok thanks glenn.. the hole backwall is 4inches thick so i'll work on making it atleast 6inches thick b/c there isnt any space between the wall and rockwool.. maybe 8inches thick |

thanks guys... no such thing as to much. i'll add traps in the corners, FRP.. see how it sounds and start adding more traps around the room... im thinking about doing the whole room the way i did the back wall... cover all the walls with bacl and burguny burlap... i think it would look good and sound good.. my main issue is i have a drop ceiling thats only 8feet. BTW the room is 14x15.. i measured today |
