1D QRD Construction Specs

I had a previous thread that put a nice set of plans in my hand but brought up a new question;

The PDF that was provided is excellent but only shows one size with a 9" depth.. I have 12" X 8" finished wood and was hoping to rip them down the centre. How do I calculate the sequence and depths for a 6" frame and will 6" be sufficient? Also, the wall it will be affixed to is a 2" X 6" studded, rock wool filled and fabric covered. Will the space above and below absorb enough to be sufficient bass trapping?

Thanks.

Above and below extends to the floor and ceiling? Sure, that's a great place for bass trapping.

Wow, this is a really cool tool! For fun I entered values for a skyline diffusor with a very broad reach (100 Hz -10 KHz) it basicly gives you a design in the lines of the walls in Blackbird Studio C.
StudioVisa - Recording Studio Virtual Tours

Entering values from 860 - 3440 Hz gives you a very standard skyline, wich should be very easy to build.

Also a "standard" QRD design has depths in multiples of 1 inch or ca 2,5 cm and seems very easy to build.

I recommend everyone playing with this thing a little; it makes you understand the whole concept of room treatment a lot better... for instance why basstraps are the only cure for smaller rooms! thumbsup
