Where to buy rockwool Tampa?

Ok called SPI and they don't carry roxul and the mineral wool they do have is back ordered for 4 months. They do have 703 in stock buy at 85 a bundle is a bit much.

Anyone know where I can call to buy mineral wool in tampa.

FYI, I finally (after 3 emails) recieved an email back from Roxul directly. Here's what it said...

Quote:
Thanks for your interest in Roxul insulation products. Please find attached list of distributors who handle mineral wool in Florida. We currently are not shipping into the southeastern states due to cost considerations but anyone on this list should help.

Regards,
Iain Stuart

Roxul Inc.

If anyone needs that list (as I know some people on here here live/work in the sunshine state)
I've attached it to this thread.

I'd suspect since Roxul isn't shipping, very few of the companies listed will have stock, but its worth a shot.

Look for insulation suppliers for HVAC etc. Not home construction as suppliers. Ask for 4 lb/ft^3 mineral wool. Rockwool, Knauf, Certainteed, are justa few of the makers.

Andre, you're great. I have been wanting to do this, however I had no idea what to ask for besides specific products.

If you're ever in the tampa area, I owe you a meal and a drink.

Hey, I'm just over the bridge...

Let me know where you eventually end up buying your stuff from. I'm in the market too.

Actually, I'm in Palm Habor, so I'm not that far away, just go to IADT in Tampa. I haven't taken studio design yet, so I'm going full force into this before I try to absorb the academics of it.

I just wish SPI carried some stuff in.

Andre, I may have found a dealer in Tampa, they only offer 8lb/ft^3 though, will that be appropriate for my needs?

What are you building? Odds are the material will be okay, but I want to double check.

Robert, I found a place that sells some mineral wool. I bought some and I think I bought a bit too much. 480 sqr ft of 2" panels.

Let me know if you're still in the market to buy some.

Ok, well found out that I have enough Mineral wool to make about 30 traps. lol

Seriously, I don't need that much for my small room. I'll probably be able to max it out with 10 traps. 4 for the front corners (2 of the stacked stradled in each front corner) 1 over head for the front wall / ceiler corner. 4 for the early reflections. and one for behind me. I might make the rear one a 6"er but depends on the situation when I move into the new place. (damn closet directly behind me)

If anyone in tampa needs mineral wool, I've got 4 bundles of the stuff for cheap! Here's the specs on it - http://www.iig-llc.com/pdfs/IIG405.pdf

Hey djgizmo, I know this is about 8 months out but do you still have any of that mineral wool that you would like to sell? I would like to buy enough for about four 2'x4'x4" bass traps.
