How do these specifications compare against the tried and true insulation products mentioned here everyday? I'm having a hard time finding what I need where I live and it looks like I might be able to get this stuff... http://www.glasscellisofab.com/sheet...INSULATION.pdf |

If you included your location in your profile people could help you with suppliers. the material you linked does not show any absorption data. Fibrex makes products that are wonderful for sound absorption. See Bob Golds Fantastic Absorption Coefficients Data for detailed data. Andre |

Sorry, I'm in Cambridge, Ontario. I actually contacted a place in Hamilton this morning that I was recommended but they have yet to get back to me with pricing and availability on Roxul Rockboard 60. The place listed in Roxul's website that is in Cambridge claimed that the stuff is apparently really hard to come by these days and I will have a hard time finding it anywhere, but I'm having a hard time putting much validity into that statement. I notice you're in Hamilton yourself, do you have any recommendations on comparable products that can be found in the area and names of any retailers I should contact? Any help would be appreciated. |

Ended up ordering 60 sheets of Roxul Rockboard 40 from a place in Kitchener. $0.65/ft^2 for the 2" stuff. Planning on building my panels as two 2'w x 6'h x 4"d traps that are hinged together so I can fold them a bit so they will stand sturdy on their own. Can also fold them all the way to function as a 8" deep trap for the corners if that ends up working better as well. Excited about this as I don't need to mount anything on any walls and they will be totally portable, should also work good for setting up makeshift vocal and drum booths! |
